may have many phrases that have found in books about the craft of writing, but few like this.
"I looked up. It was daylight. The fog filled the room. The stove was off. His hands were numb. The finger that supports the pencil I had left a blister. I stung my eyes. I back hurt. I could barely move because of the cold. But I never felt better. "
I think more than one reading this could have happened. Boy does it makes you feel better.
